In The Holiday, the retired director asks kate winslet why she's relegating herself to the role of a supporting actress, when really she looks and has the presence of a star. I am not being proud when i say this. But sometimes i ask myself the same question. Why am i subjecting myself to the emotional turbulences and paranoias of the juvenile hearts and minds that have warped themselves in memories of their 'first love', the only reason for them doing so being that they are too afraid (huh?) and that they haven't gotten enough attention since then. Really, stop making your life seem like a soap opera and grow up. Everyone's had enough of the drama.
Everyone's had their firsts...the first peek, the first crush, the first butterflies in the tummy, the first hug, the first kiss, the first love, the first date. But there's so much more to life than the firsts. The seconds, thirds and fourths are sometimes even more pleasing. Yes, you can never forget the first. But the first is just the key that opens up the door to something alot more mature, alot more refined and alot more complex. I have learnt this, and i think its time for you to do so too.
